At ADUS we strengthen social solidarity and support Mporoume’s mission to reduce food waste in Greece.

That’s why before leave for your summer destination, read some useful tips to achieve zero food waste:

  • Check the correct temperature in your refrigerator for the best preservation (4°C)
  • Place in the freezer meat or fish, hard cheeses, and cooked food that you have not consumed
  • Use the fruit you can’t take with you to make smoothies or make granitas for preservation in the freezer
  • Basil, spinach, arugula can make a nice pesto sauce for last minute pasta
  • If the milk or yogurt is nearing its expiration date, you can make cream for a dessert or other refrigerator dessert
  • Leftover vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, etc. can be made into a sauce and stored in the freezer
  • You can put the cucumbers in airtight containers with water for preservation for 2-4 weeks
  • Packaged food which you have already opened (rice, spaghetti, etc.) can be kept in the refrigerator

And don’t forget...

If you are interested in carrying out a social responsibility action, you can contact the Mporoume organization and learn the ways in which you can contribute to their important work to reduce food waste and fight malnutrition in Greece.
